Guitar Lessions:

Want to learn how to play the guitar? 1/2 hour lessons are now available with Michael Avery here at The Centre. Lessons run with the school term and are $23 each.

My lessons are open to essentially all ages, anywhere from "20 somethings", teenagers, retirees to young children. I would say any age after 6 would be fine.

All levels of ability are catered for, from absolute beginners (who are very welcome to sign up) to others with prior experience and more developed abilities.

I am happy to help and support others learn any style of music which they would most like to play (Pop, Rock, Jazz, Classical, Folk, Electric, Acoustic, Improv etc)

Personally, I have studied guitar at the Victorian College of the Arts, attended numerous workshops and performed widely solo and in groups from guitar trios to rock bands.

Merle's Role
Merle constructs each workshop as a journey. The theme is chosen and the relevant symbols become apparent as do their meanings. The theme then grows and the relevant archetype (or characteristics to be developed in the future) becomes clearer. The information is imparted in a user friendly way through Merle's teaching skills and her understanding of the process of learning. She guides each person to learn both art skills and life skills or the 'Art of Insight'.

Your Role
As you become more involved in the interactive drawing, you begin your journey to new understanding. Your own answers are revealed and explained in the process (not always at a conscious level or on the day of the drawing). Each drawing is distinctive and individual. The end result is highly valued by the artist for its creativity, individuality and answers.

Discover how to move forward in your life as answers are revealed through your art

No drawing experience is necessary. All art materials are provided. Instruction is given step by step. Complete two large drawings suitable for framing. The class runs for 3 hours and is $60 per class. Bookings essential. Dates for 2010 (Saturdays):

Practitioner Feature: Merle Tait Teacher, wife, mother, grandmother - ARTIST. Merle started her journey *'The Art of Insight'* through a dream to share with others the way art talks to us. It is unfolding through her love of sharing her knowledge of personal growth and its links. Merle was a Primary School teacher for 34 years, but did not teach art. Her pathway evolved through her interest in spiritual art. The more she drew the more in touch she became with how the pictures told a story. Feelings and information evolved as the picture took shape. Symbolism expanded, pictures became more complex and messages more explicit. Merle was able to feel what was to be drawn, see shapes within lines and shadows. She learned that the pictures moved from the past, to the present, to the future. The energy from each picture was individual as stories unfolded. This process is shared in Merle's art classes, workshops and readings. The Beginning - the Dream The unicorn grew in the egg, a symbol of a new beginning.
