What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese word that means "Universal Life Energy". This energy runs through all living beings and is also known as light, chi, prana, cosmic energy, life force and by any other terms. Reiki healers are attuned to the Reiki energy and this allows them to become a channel for this energy in order to use it for healing.
This energy amplifies the flow of energy through your body and raises the vibrational rate of the energy in the body. This energy clears away energy that is no longer beneficial for the body and creates a wonderful feeling of relaxation and lightness.
A reiki session consists of the practitioner placing their hands on specific areas of the body in order to transmit healing energy, which is often felt as a feeling of warmth, tingling or even coolness. The experience is as individual as each person who receives the healing.
What can Reiki treat?
Reiki works on four levels of the body: Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual. On the Physical level it helps clear the body of toxins, improves energy levels, supports the immune system and the body's ability to heal itself. On the Emotional level it helps calm and balance the nervous system, allows you to become more aware of your emotional state and to relieve any suppressed emotions that may be leading to illness in the body. On the Mental level reiki relaxes and clams the activity of the mind and improves clarity of mind and concentration. This allows new insights to become clear and brings a new level of focus into your life. On the Spiritual level reiki allows you to reconnect with the energy of unconditional love. It also improves your awareness and allows you to connect with your inner being and soul.
What are Chakras?
Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning "wheel" or "vortex". Each chakra is related to a different part of and function of the body. If any of the Chakras are blocked then your energy levels and other aspects of your physical body may be affected. Reiki energy works on clearing the chakras and allowing your energy to run smoothly and clearly through your body.
